Chopper College is the only motorcycle school known that is on the leading edge of technology. Chopper College was the first college to offer custom motorcycle courses and the first to offer them in a boot camp format. After much exposure and success we have now come to see competitors develop in the industry, so we’ve stepped it up in many ways to help out our students, partners, and sponsors.
Chopper College has partnered with Minneapolis Community Technical College (MCTC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota to offer more courses to the public, particularly within the Chopper College School of Green Technology.
Chopper College will be offering student financing in 2010 for which everyone qualifies. There are multiple options students can choose from and Chopper College can develop a custom financing program for you if you take 5 or more courses in 6 months or less. Chopper College has hired Rmetrics, LLC out of Chicago, IL to provide the financing for students enrolled in our college. For more information about student financing please see Student Financing under Courses.
Chopper College, as all colleges and universities, can’t guarantee a job position after leaving the college. So we’ve set-up a database on our website which allows you to post your credentials and type of job you are seeking that is open for potential employers to view. Most companies are asking us for multi-skilled employees.
If you choose to take a bike building boot camp course and are going to be building your own custom motorcycle afterwards, Chopper College offers a discount on all parts! We are working on a discount for tools and equipment. We are also open to aiding former students in locating hard to find equipment and parts.
Chopper College will have 24/7 Tech Access in 2010, where you can contact any instructor to get that last tip to finish your bike or engine. We are also setting up a CC Chat Room where all alumni and current students can talk about new ideas or problems with their bikes.
Chopper College is currently located in Minneapolis in a 15,000 sq/ft facility with state of the art equipment for classes. In May of 2010 Chopper College will be moving down the street to our new 27,500 sq/ft facility. There will be dozens of classes held daily so you can mingle with other students to get the inside information on other Chopper College courses.
Chopper College has many instructors on staff so we’ve got the correct answer to any question you may have.
The First School of Green Technology for Motorcycles
Chopper College recently submitted a ‘Concept Paper’ to the US Department of Energy under the title, The Application of Alternative Fuels in the Motorcycle Industry as a Catalyst in the Transformation of the Transportation Sector. As with the car industry, the re-creation of the motorcycle industry has begun. Motorcycle engines like cars, is a combustion process. Fueled by gasoline, the demand for alternate fuel choices is developing, like cars.
With momentum building, a real cultural shift will come with the development of user-friendly alternative fuels for motorcycles. Tapping into the demographics of motorcycle owners, this change can also act as a catalyst of widespread future transportation shifts.
Chopper College recently opened the first ever School of Green Technology exclusively for motorcycles. In addition, a concept paper was prepared and submitted by the college to the U.S. Department of Energy under the title, The Application of Alternative Fuels in the Motorcycle Industry as a Catalyst in the Transformation of the Transportation Sector. As with the car industry, the recreation of the motorcycle industry has begun. Motorcycle engines, like the engines of cars, are a combustion process. Fueled by gasoline, the demand for alternate fuel choices is also developing as it is with cars.
With momentum building, a real cultural shift is sure to come with the development of user friendly alternative fuels for motorcycles. Tapping into the demographics of motorcycles owners, this change may also function as a catalyst for widespread future transportation shifts.
Chopper College’s School of Green Technology is designed to change the innovative process. By operating as an incubator type trade school, the college will house separate teams focused on their own inventions as well as part of a scientific study that incorporates technical parts of their own invention with others. Chopper College will provide the business protection for the inventor, allowing for an open sharing environment with the goal of building an increasingly effect end product.
Students have the opportunity to be engaged every step of the way! Join us as we move forward with green motorcycles.
Through its School of Green Technology, Chopper College will explore all types of engines powered by different methods – algae, bio-fuel, hydrogen, diesel, electric or solar. This ‘green’ track of learning will include a detailed understanding of how to maintain a lithium battery to maximize use, detailed discussion of hydrogen combustion, natural gas, gas free acceleration, ethanol, solar power, and hybrids of each.
Plus, the skills and tools needed to work on electric driven bikes, drive shafts, transmissions, and detailed battery maintenance and repair coverage. And most of all, a futuristic presentation of all aspects of plug in capabilities, hybrid upgrades, fuel alternatives, and the war between retro technology for fuel savings and the electric car battery.

What is Financial Assistance (FACC)?
Financial Assistance is a program available to all future Chopper College students. All students are qualified for the FACC program. FACC is available due to the economy. We know it’s a difficult time. Chopper College is helping students today with job placement assistance and expanding their skill sets.
FACC Payment Plans
The FACC payment plans are all dependent on how many courses you take. All payment plans requires a half down deposit for each class that you are intending to take. For example, if you’re taking a Bike Building Boot Camp (ITCC-101) you need to place $500 down and are available to finance the remaining amount, for one month. Chopper College also offered customized packages if qualified. Below are the payment plans currently offered.
The limit of courses to take within a 6 month duration is 9. With half down per class you are again able to finance the remaining amount until the first day of your last course selected.
As this maybe a bit confusing, but more helpful, as intended, there are Chopper College representatives available today to walk you through the registration process at 651-528-6287.
Chopper College offers Tuition Assistance Programs under TACC to qualified students.
Chopper College will be offering student financing in 2010. There are multiple options students can choose from, and Chopper College can have a custom financing program made if you take over 5 courses in 6 months or less. Chopper College has hired Rmetrics, LLC out of Chicago, IL to provide the financing portion of the college. Chopper College has the right to turn away student financing after reviewing the students files.
To qualify for TACC you will need to submit what type of courses you would like to take and the dates. Then determine what type of program you wish you use. “I just got home from Chopper College. It was great. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Tom and Joe really know what they are doing, and you can’t explain the satisfaction you get when a bunch of guys put a bike together in three days and fire it up, it’s crazy. I feel I have the knowledge to turn this pile of parts in my garage into a bike. I recommend this class to anyone interested in learning the right way to put a bike together (don’t forget the loctite).”
“Fantastic hands on instruction from raw frame to finished ride in three days. Great pace and class size is right to keep all involved working and learning at a pace that is not too fast, but not too slow. Tommy also did a great job in keeping us well fed! Best of luck.”
“I loved it. It was a great break from my everyday life.”
“Tommy ‘Clutch’ Creal and his crew at Chopper College are the ‘how to – go to guys’ if you want to learn how to wrench on a bike and walk away with the confidence to build your own. I never wired anything in my life – but under the expert guidance of Joe “Big Sexy” Jasko – I wired one entire side of the bike-front and back-including the ignition and it fired up on the first try when we were done on Sunday night. Anyone thinking of taking this course can call me anytime…and I’ll tell them they are crazy if they don’t!”
“Well done guys! This has been the most fun I have had in the longest time! Great entertainment! (The) class was informative, balanced chalk-time with bike time well, and allowed us some room to learn on our own. I am so glad to have spent this time here, I am sure your operation will far surpass your expectations!”
“It was a lot of knowledge to absorb in three days but they paced it well and always made sure everyone understood the material. They made it fun. A great experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
“This class was everything I hoped for and more. The small class size, hands on teaching, and relaxed atmosphere were on target. I got a great understanding of the basics and a lot of advanced stuff as well. Key to me was learning the basics of wiring, how to chase and thread bolts, use a volt meter, and the quick class on welding. I now feel confident to work on my bike without trial and error but knowing what I’m doing. Ya’ll were great and answered all my questions. I will definitely recommend this class to anyone.”

Chopper College has recently branched out to explore the world of green technology and how we can apply it to the motorcycle industry. Through its School of Green Technology, Chopper College will explore all types of engines powered by different methods. This green track of learning will include a detailed understanding of how to maintain a lithium battery to maximize use, detailed discussion of hydrogen combustion, natural gas, gas free acceleration, ethanol, solar power, and hybrids of each.
Chopper College is currently looking to employ between twenty and thirty people. We are on the cutting edge of the industry. We are looking for people who think outside of the box to fill many different positions in the shop and the office. If you are interested in joining our team, or interested in positions available, please send us an e-mail at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
As an educational forum the College is always looking at the best and brightest products on the market, and is always looking for information that can help the student. Through this process exists great opportunity for outside firms to exhibit and promote their products. Structured or test programs are available, for short or long term time periods.
If interested please contact us directly.
Each month a Special Theme Bike Building Boot Camp is offered. The class builds two custom choppers designed for the class partner. A different class will be held each month for three months. The dynamics of the program include bus ads for the class partner announcing the special bike build, radio talk shows promoting the theme bike and the class partner, plus viral marketing. The partner walks away with his/her own custom bike, tons of promotion and revenues from of a gain sharing arrangement.
This is a great promotional event for holiday weekends or special times during the year.
People in every company talk about building the team, working as a team, and my team, but few understand how to create the experience of team work or how to develop an effective team. Belonging to a team, is a result of feeling part of something larger than yourself. To accomplish that it takes practice. We understand this at Chopper College, due to our personal experiences.
At Chopper College we’ve made the Team Building course as fun as possible but still meeting the objectives of a successful event. There are keys to team building and we’ve set certain activities, such as our bike building boot camp, as our initial Team Building event.
Companies have co-workers that have never meet before and after bringing them together, first and formost, they begin a new relationship or understanding of the others job. In certain experiences co-workers have sat down after Team Building to brainstorm (due to their common knowledge about a subject) and created some of the best work.
We understand there are many Team Building events out there ranging from making Teddy bears to Rock climbing, but experiencing the building of a bike from start to finish is an accomplishment alone.
Your team builds a bike from scratch, either a Chopper College bike, or a bike your company wants built personally. How neat is that? Building a bike for your company and having the right to say I BUILT THAT! People, of course, object but we’re here to back you up!
Registration
Chopper College offers 5 different methods of registration for a course:
Any way you do it, you will be reserving your spot in class!
Chopper College was created in response to the growing niche market for shorter and more intense learning environments, the push to expand ones’ skill base, the ever popular demand for custom bike building, and the move towards a ‘green’ mode of transportation. The theme of the school is to provide boot camp style classes for a myriad of types of hands on instruction.
The college began with one campus located thirty miles south of Chicago offering just the weekend bike building boot camp. Over time it has upgraded and expanded its core curriculum and toured the country with Allstate Insurance, promoting its radical style of learning while continuing to design innovative class instruction.
There are many revenue models and the opportunity for growth is widespread. However, the basic components lie with student demand and the boot camp format, all else follows naturally. The boot camp format consists of intense learning condensed into a short period of time. For example, Northwestern University offers a nine week summer course which covers three entire science courses. The medical industry has followed suit, offering Medicare Boot Camps to hospitals over weekends.
Chopper College follows much of the same approach. The students immerse themselves in an environment that is truly conducive to absorbing as much information on a specific topic in a limited amount of time. The schedule allows for no distractions. Chopper College is exceedingly focused on hands on instruction in every aspect of building a motorcycle from start to finish. These areas run the full spectrum from custom bike building, welding, frame design, fabrication, to even PC design workshops.
One example of innovative teaching styles implemented at Chopper College include having a wiring harness enlarged and painted on the floor so students can walk through the flow of the current and feel the ‘pops’ and ‘shocks’, or real power.
Starting with one class entitled The 3 Day Boot Camp, Chopper College has now expanded to over thirty classes and is currently developing instructional videos for a variety of topics that will be mass produced and marketed.
The popularity of such a school stems from motorcycle owner demographics, company sponsored continuing education, cars and cycles becoming more customized, and the industry as a whole expanding to include and embrace women.
Through the years 2007 and 2008, Chopper College sponsored the Chop This National Tour which was conducted in tandem with the Allstate Mobile Garage tour. Those tours jointly presented both companies in various venues with a traveling boot camp that invited students to participate in a three day bike build leading up to the unveiling of a custom chopper at the end. The now famous Allstate chopper is a result of that national tour.

Tom grew up in an athletic minded family in the southern suburbs of Chicago. Beginning at a young age his drive, determination and passion had great focus. When his first go-kart broke down, a ten year old Tom got it running more efficiently and much faster than before. Whether it was playing hockey at Mt. Carmel High School or building and repairing anything with an engine, Tom always wanted to be the best.
Tom, assisted by his savvy business partners and his own technical expertise, experienced unprecedented success as a spokesperson for a national insurance company. Although Tom initially coped with the pressure and stress through substance abuse, after several attempts at rehab and lots of family support and self determination, Tom is now sober and doing better than ever.
Always an enthusiastic bike builder, Tom has built works of art for several Fortune 500 companies as well as distinguished and recognized individuals. His true talent, aside from the creative machines he builds from scratch, lies with the personal relationships that he develops with students, enthusiasts during rallies, customers, and marketing partners.
Still in his twenties, he has developed his expertise over the past years as well as expanded on the ancillary skills involved with teaching such a wide variety of motorcycle building classes. Tom is the CEO of Chopper College, home of the boot camp formatted classes that are both entertaining and educational. Furthermore, Tom has added the green component as well with alternative fuel for choppers and alternative powered motorcycles, known as Chopper College’s School of Green Technology.
Not without a virtual roller coaster ride through his early years, Clutch is a veteran among bikes. He is always open to talk shop, design a new custom bike, or teach others about his trade. He currently lives in Minnesota with his supportive girlfriend, dogs, and he has a 1 ½ year old son Caleb Creal, hopefully one day take over Chopper College. He lives according to the motto, “One day at a time” and hopes to serve as a source of support and inspiration for others that may be recovering or struggling with substance abuse.
“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.” -Anonymous
“Just live life, it’s that simple!” Thomas Creal

An exciting and innovative alliance was formed between the Minneapolis Community and Technical College and Chopper College. It brings all the tricks and tips of custom motorcycle bike building to the classroom. Taught by industry professionals, students become the builder, fabricator, assembler, cutter, painter, designer and mechanic – all in a boot camp format. The alliance is the first of its kind, allowing MCTC to offer specialized skill development in a condensed period of time. Plus, they have introduced the School of Green Technology devoted to making the motorcycle industry increasingly friendly to the environment.
For the past two years, Chopper College has traveled the country as a rolling tour, teaching bike building to audiences at all types of forums. Along with its own collection of custom bikes, the college designs and builds theme bikes during certain classes along with the students.
